Marriage Ceremonies

There is a lot to consider when planning your wedding day!

My role is to assist you with the planning of your ceremony, ensuring that your story is told, but most importantly that I guide you through the steps to ensure the marriage ceremony is carried out according to law. Your ceremony will reflect your commitment and love for each other; you can write your own vows and include family or friends to do a reading or participate in a ritual. However, there are two mandatory sections to all weddings.

The first being the section called the ‘Monitum’. The monitum must be said before the vows are taken and is generally said as part of the introduction or welcome.

The second being the mandatory vows. Other than that, there are no rules!

Once you have chosen your date and place of venue, it is important to book your Celebrant as early as possible. The next step is to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage form which must be received by me, no later than one month prior to your wedding along with of proof of your identification.

It is a legal requirement that we need to have five (5) people, being the couple, two witnesses and celebrant present at your marriage. You can hold your ceremony anywhere, even the smallest places.

I will take care of all the legalities so that you can enjoy the fun part of planning your wedding.

I will create a wedding ceremony that reflects your uniqueness and everything important to you.

I will create a ceremony for you that fits with your personalities, who you are as a couple and your vision for the day and future.

I will write an original script for you and about you.

Most of all I will make it all easy, fun and stress-free for you.
